Fiberglass Mesh Tape for Reel Seat Bushings
| Far superior to masking tape bushings for mounting reel seats. This mesh tape allows the epoxy to go all the way through the bushing, from the seat to the blank for a fail safe bond. "Builds up" twice as fast as masking tape with a thickness of .008" versus most masking tapes at .003"-.004" Cut into 3/4" - 1" strips, then wrap it into bushings 1/2 - 3/4" apart under the length of the reel seat. |
Flex Coat Brick Foam Reel Seat Arbors
| Glued in place with epoxy, these lightweight arbors create a super strong bond between the reel seat and the rod blank, increasing sensitivity. The arbor is a solid, semi porous polyurethane material that is easily workable. O.D. can be lathe turned. The 1/4" inside diameter pilot hole can be easily reamed or drilled out to fit any size blank. Try a Flex Coat self-piloting drill bit (below) for a PERFECTLY centered hold! | Pilot Drill Jig from Flex Coat. Using this jig, you can make your own pilot bits for precision drilling of reel seat arbors & cork rings with a 1/4" I.D. pilot hole. Works with all popular Hardware store variety spade (paddle / butterfly) type bits. Kit includes six (6) aluminum pilot tubes. This precision machined jig maintains accurate alignment of the pilot tube to the spade bit while epoxying the pilot tube to the bit. In addition to this jig, you'll need a Dremel type grinding tool to score & shape the tip of the spade bit prior to adding the pilot tube. |
